Thinking Photography
You're holding your breath because you know the pelican might fly away at any moment and then you know the boy might turn around and see you at any moment.
The wave is the defining moment of the picture.
In everything beautiful there is something strange.
A really great photograph is like a poem: it's a perfect thing within a frame. In a poem, if you take out a comma, you destroy the poem. And if you crop a good photograph, you will destroy it.
